Bitter melon is a member of the Cucurbitaceae family (cucumbers, pumpkins and watermelons). The bitter melon fruit, sometimes called bitter gourd or wild cucumber, grows in tropical and sub-tropical climates. It is very nutritious vegetable having high therapeutic value.
